Zuhra Aziz is an Afghan-American attorney, originally from Clarkston, Georgia. Raised in a diverse community, Zuhra developed a deep passion for culture and inclusivity from an early age.
As the daughter of Afghan immigrants, she learned the importance of diligence and perseverance in building a life in the United States. Motivated by these values, Zuhra chose to pursue a legal career with the goal of advocating for minority groups facing injustice and empowering individuals striving for stability within the U.S.
Zuhra began her legal career in public interest law, serving at the Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) in Savannah, Georgia. In this capacity, she assisted indigent populations with legal matters involving the Georgia Department of Labor. Following the 2021 evacuations from Afghanistan, Zuhra transitioned to the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN), where she provided legal assistance to Afghan newcomers seeking asylum and other forms of humanitarian immigration relief. Currently, Zuhra practices at Lynn Leonard and Associates, a private law firm, where she serves as the chair of the firm’s Volunteerism Committee.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, she remains dedicated to giving back to her community through pro bono legal work.
