Dr. Amanda Phillips, MD, FACOG is a native Atlantan and a distinguished award winner celebrated for her outstanding achievements in medicine, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Currently residing in Metro Atlanta with her husband and children, Dr. Phillips has made significant contributions to her community and beyond.

A graduate of Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in biology, Dr. Phillips pursued her medical degree at the University of South Carolina, establishing herself as a practicing Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She has been practicing for over 20 years. She served as a partner at Eagle's Landing Ob/Gyn and has demonstrated her commitment to professional excellence by chairing the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Piedmont Henry Hospital.

Beyond her medical practice, Dr. Phillips is an accomplished entrepreneur, owning a real estate investment company. Her servant spirit extends to her roles on various boards, including Dembure Homes and Haven House, where she played a vital role in supporting the disabled and victims of domestic violence, respectively. She joined the board of the Center for Black Women’s Wellness, a clinic for uninsured women, in 2024. She also serving the Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity board. Dr. Phillips regularly mentors high school and college students, speaks on panels to educate the community, volunteers at health fairs and free clinics, supports and fundraises for several nonprofit organizations.

Actively engaged in improving healthcare standards, Dr. Phillips serves as a Senior Peer Reviewer at Piedmont Healthcare, contributing to professional development for enhanced patient safety. Additionally, she founded the Henry County Islamic Center in 2016, serving as board Vice-President and treasurer, showcasing her commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive communities.

A dedicated alumna, Dr. Phillips has contributed significantly to Emory University, establishing the "Dr. Amanda Copeland Phillips Endowed Scholarship" in 2019. She serves as a mentor in their program. During her time as a student, she served on SGA, Honor Council, Rotary Club, Dooley's Doll, and was a member of the Dance Co. She chartered the 1st chapter of the Muslim Student Association at Emory University on Oxford's campus. Her philanthropic endeavors extend to supporting Georgia rural hospitals and paying off student lunch balances in Henry County schools, demonstrating her commitment to education and community welfare.

She recently served on the Oxford College of Emory University alumni board. She was selected as the Outstanding Alumna at Oxford College for 2024.

Dr. Phillips has been recognized for her exemplary community service with multiple awards, including honors from Stockbridge Mayor Anthony Ford and Council, the Elevated Foundation, Community Development for Real People, and Al-Bayinnah Masjid. Commissioner Vivian Thomas awarded her the Women Igniting Social Change Foundation’s Women of Distinction Award in 2021. This year, the City of Stockbridge bestowed upon her a proclamation, acknowledging her outstanding contributions, dedication and leadership in making a positive impact on the community. Stockbridge councilwomen Yolanda Barber selected her as a Mother’s Day Honoree for community service in 2024.

Outside of her professional and philanthropic pursuits, Dr. Phillips embraces her passion for travel, having visited 72 countries and all seven continents. She finds joy in live music, art, photography, water activities, and family time.
